Zora changes aren't bad at all, especially for the kids for whom the 3DS game was their first experience, or people who already abused the shit out of Chateau Romani, because there are some really clever changes to the core game design that make it much harder to miss unlocking it and make it less of a pain to actually use, and the fact you unlock the two at pretty much the same time means that for someone stumbling about blindly they're almost guaranteed to just use Chateau Romani for the foreseeable future, and I think the positives of making another mask more useful as well as the pain the slower speed lessens inside the great bay temple makes the Zora swim change a net positive in my book.ĭeku change is actually the worst thing ever though, Fuck that change.Īll that said though, I disagree with OP that it's one of the worst remakes out there. As far as remakes go, it’s up there with Diddy Kong Racing DS and Super Mario 64 DS in terms of shittiness compared to the original product. That game changed a lot of things like instrumentation in the game’s soundtrack, Ice Arrow mechanics, Zora swimming, the Stone Mask location and even boss strategies for the worse. I’m also glad he didn’t play the 3DS remake. It may not be as tedious as the fairy hunt in each dungeon but obtaining the Fierce Deity Mask is definitely a completion bonus and a half. I’m a bit baffled he didn’t go for 100% completion, considering he went through the whole Anju/Kafei sidequest and obtained the Couple’s Mask just to show us one of the most emotional parts of the game. It’s also nitpicky to see the Nerd bitch about the game’s save system when he’s played a lot of older games that didn’t even allow you to save your progress and often had heavily inflated difficulty curves. I’d agree with him that the Great Bay Temple absolutely sucks and makes OOT’s Water Temple seem like a masterpiece in level design by comparison, but I do not remember Majora’s Mask being a frustrating or punishing game. Just look at the amount of times he rolls instead of picking up the powdered keg. Some of the footage makes me think that the Nerd is either using a worn down N64 controller with stick issues (a very common issue with official N64 pads), or that he’s reached the age where he’s starting to suck at video games. This almost feels like a justified attack on Majora’s Mask in the same way that Egoraptor ripped apart Ocarina of Time on Sequelitis. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.
